The Alex Wilson Legacy Fund fosters folklore projects around Boulder and the Front Range of Colorado. It continues and expands the lifework of Alex “Tink” Wilson (1929-2012), an inspiring leader of folk dancing, folk song, and story in the Boulder area for decades. Since 2012, the Fund has helped to fund many community-related folklore projects through small grants.

The Boulder Dance Coalition is located in Boulder, Colorado. It is a non-profit coalition of groups and individuals of all ages that are involved in folk arts, music and dance.

Boulder Ecstatic Dance (BED) is a weekly ecstatic dance hosted every Sunday evening at either the Avalon Ballroom or Nevei Kodesh (check our social pages for where dance is for the week). Ecstatic Dance is a free form dance meditation that encourages you to express oneself through movement with the support of an intentionally curated musical journey.

Richard Powers, an internationally recognized social dance historian and teacher from Stanford University, has been coming to Colorado to teach historic social dance workshops since 1998. Richard’s aggregated influence on social dance in Colorado through the years has been immense.

Challenge your brain, test your balance. Sweat a little & have FUN learning this American art form. Sally Fortenberry has been tapping for 30 years and holds a Teacher Training certificate from the American Tap Dance Foundation.

Progressive Salsa Dance classes starting at the beginning of each month.
